Staffan Truvé

CEO of the Swedish Institute of Computer Science (SICS); Co-founder of CR&T (Carlstedt Research and Technology), Chief Scientist at Recorded Future

Staffan Truvé is Chief Scientist and co-founder of Recorded Future.

Staffan has spent the last 20 years working in the borderland between research and industry, with a focus on creating new companies based on cutting edge research results. During these years, he has been instrumental in the launch of more than 15 companies, including Spotfire, Appgate, Axiomatics, Peerialism, Makewave, Enmesh, and Recorded Future.

From 2005 to 2009, he was CEO of SICS, the Swedish Institute of Computer Science, and of Interactive Institute. SICS and its subsidiaries Interactive Institute, Viktoria Institute and Santa Anna Research Institute, have approximately 200 researchers organized in 20 research groups. During his time as CEO, more than six new companies were spun off from research projects at SICS and Interactive Institute. Staffan is still engaged as chairman of Interactive Institute and Scientific Advisor to SICS.

During 2004, Staffan worked as an independent consultant engaged by the Swedish government to help restructure the Swedish research institute system.

Between 1994 and 2003, Staffan was the CEO of CR&T (Carlstedt Research & Technology), a Swedish research oriented consulting company and technology incubator.

From 1992 to 1994, he was Chief Architect at Carlstedt Elektronik, a company developing a novel computer system for distributed real time systems.

Staffan has a PhD in Computer Science from Chalmers University of Technology.  He has been a visiting Fulbright Scholar at MIT, and he also has an MBA from Göteborg University.

Staffan Truvé is a senior advisor to the Swedish venture capital firm InnovationsKapital, and advisor to several Swedish research funding agencies. He also acts as an advisor and board member to a number of startup companies. He is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences.
