Dissemination and Personal Recognition Track

Engineering for Innovation Symposium

Innovation Stage: Dissemination and Personal Recognition

Objective

The Dissemination and Personal Recognition Track program aims to share and disseminate the latest information about the application, deployment and usage of technologies. In particular, the technical programme aims to facilitate dissemination of best practices and information relative to design, development, installation and deployment of technological products and services. To that end, Engineering for Innovation Symposium (EIS) is collocated with this Track.

The EIS features state-of-the-art technical presentation selected on the basis of technology relevance, innovative edge, business approach and practical applicability. Submission of technical proposals related to the topics of the Summit, including case studies, best practices, and other practically-oriented studies are particularly welcomed. To maintain cross-sector and geographical diversity, submissions are welcomed from engineers and experts who work in technology areas related to innovative aspects of the SIB’s specific focus and in different countries around the world. Abstracts may also be invited from researchers working in industry, business and R&D sector. We also encourage those who are at the early stage of deployment or have not fully implemented techniques or devices yet to submit their statements. Putting the work in context is crucial for incremental advances in mature fields. Submissions are selected through a peer review process.

Organisation of the Dissemination and Recognition Track

Session formats include technical presentations, panel discussions and keynote presentations. In addition, session formats may include focused pre- and post-summit tutorial sessions and hands-on workshops to compliment this track session. Academy fellows can propose and chair workshops.

Benefits of participation

Participants:

  • benefit by getting the latest information about applicability and usage of technologies and discussing their practical experience, thus they can discover the latest innovative approaches and experience in related technological areas

Companies:

  • benefit by promoting their activities among a large number of participants, thus increase exposure and visibility

Engineers:

  • Online abstract submission and review process afford engineers an opportunity to disseminate abstracts and discuss various technical and operation issues with community members on the EAI Community Portal.
  • Abstract are published in EAI Innovation Briefs are stored at the European Union Digital Library(EUDL) that is the largest Open Access library. Open Access is a new publishing model where the electronic copy of the article is made freely available with permission for sharing and redistribution. Open Access articles are known to enjoy a citation and dissemination advantage over other forms of research publication. Thus, EUDL as an open access library is accessible to millions of people.
  • Authors of best abstract are selected for presentation at the Summit and invited to submit full papers for the EAI Engineering for Innovation Proceedings  that will be submitted for inclusion in all the major indexing services, Google Scholar, Microsoft Academic Search, DBLP, Engineering Information, the ISI Science Citation Index, and others.
  • Best contributions will be recognized and considered for the EAI Engineering Innovation Award.
