Academy Members

Academy Members represent internationally renowned thought leaders and experts who have made fundamental contributions to progress in science, practice and society through innovation. Membership in the Academy represents one of the highest levels of recognition for distinguished individuals that have demonstrated leadership in innovation.

The Members of the Academy develop, implement and promote Academy’s strategic agenda according to the guidelines of the Board of Trustees and the advice of the Board of Governors.

Academy Members shall have the opportunity to address crucial contents and inputs linking the stages of research, education and innovation processes and to disseminate them through white papers published by the Academy.

  • New Academy Members are elected annually by the Board of Trustees in recognition of their distinguished achievements in making contributions to science, research, governance and business that lead to Innovation.
  • New Academy Members join as either European or International Members.
    • The following categories will join the Academy as European Members: nationals of an EU Member State or Associated country, or otherwise candidates who are based in an EU Member State or Associated country;
    • All other nominees will join the Academy as International Members;
  • Nomination of new Academy Members must be submitted by an existing Member.
    • The nomination and evaluation process is confidential and is managed by the Academy Membership Committee. It is then approved by the Board of Trustees.
    • New Academy Members are announced annually at the EAI Strategic Forum Leadership meeting.
