Prototype Competition

EAI Prototype Competition is the European premier technology competition that provides an opportunity for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to demonstrate their innovative products.

One of the most challenging aspects of growing any business is to bring ideas and products to the attention of the customers and to obtain reliable feedback from them. EAI Prototype Demonstration Competitionaims to support business success of SMEs by giving them visibility together with marketing opportunities to attract customers, partners and external capital.

Also, the competition aims at building customer and supplier relationships and providing a platform for SMEs to introduce, or test the acceptance of their innovative products.

The overall aim of the EAI Prototype Demo Competition is:

  • to reward inventive European research and innovation projects at the prototype stage
  • to promote new products, industrial processes or services with a major contribution to innovation within the ICT field in Europe

EAI Prototype Demonstration Competitionspecifically seeks to compare and rank products of the same nature or function. Company representatives will have the opportunity to introduce the selected products to the audience. However, their products will not only be presented but also evaluated and commented on by EAI community members as well as the participants of the conference.

The competition is divided in to three steps which will all take part commencing spring 2012, as follows:

Step 1: Application – A representative(s) of the SME must complete the online submission form and then submit their demo video via upload through the EAI Portal. Entrants are required to enter the URL or Embed Code in the submission form. The embedded third party content will be parsed and displayed appropriately from this. The following services are provided: Slideshare, Vimeo, YouTube.

Step 2: Participation – The 50 best entries, as voted by EAI community members,will be selected and featured on the EAI Portal.  Online submission and review process of entries afford SMEs an opportunity to introduce the selected products to the wide community, receive members’ feedback, comments and offers for collaboration. To be considered for the competition, SMEs must showcase their products in the exhibitors demo space area at Summit. The most innovative prototypes compete for and other honors including postings in EAI publications.

Step 3: The Final –The top three SME winners, as voted by EAI community members as well as the participants of the conference, receive recognition determined by the Competition’s sponsor, appear in the EAI and/or member organization’s digital publications, and receive a special invitation to present at the EAI upcoming summit. Winners are featured inThe Innovatorand they will be considered for theSME InnovationAward. Prizes will be based on obtained sponsorship.
