SIB Chair

This role offers a challenging leadership position for motivating and leading a group of experts and a possibility to influence the future direction of the specific Science, Innovation and Business (SIB) Communities thematic area.

Typically, the SIB Chair hasthe following responsibilities:

  • The Chair communicates and promotes the strategic vision and mission of the SIB and fosters collaboration between different EAI stakeholders
  • The Chair sets an example of a strong leadership through maintaining a professional atmosphere within the SIB and an open communication between SIB Deputies and Vice Chairs
  • Represents the SIB in relation to other SIBs and the relevance according to new up-coming research interests
  • Contributes to the organisation of the SIB Summitby advising on the strategic vision and scope of the annual Summit and recommending key participants
  • Writes an annual report of SIB activities
  • Represents the SIB in the Innovation Academy annual Award selection Committees

SIB Chairs are community leaders selected among the most active participants and their appointment is approved by EAI Secretariat.

SIB Chairs report regularly to EAI Secretariat and SIB Managers.
