These positions require excellent communicators for external and internal relations and are essential for promoting the activities and participation in the SIB. Through the extended EAI and SIB networks, activities and publications, the messages are multiplied and the overall importance of the thematic area increased.

SIB Deputy Chair – Publications

The Deputy Chair for Publications is responsible for the publications from the SIB. As activities related to the SIB spawn articles, white papers and additional opportunities for dissemination, this Deputy Chair will be responsible for ensuring that this SIB activity is published and made broadly available, either through existing EAI publications or by creating SIB specific publications. This Deputy Chair is also responsible for the SIB portal and promoting its active use throughout the SIB members.

SIB Deputy Chair – Membership

The Deputy Chair for Membership is responsible for membership within the SIB.  The Deputy fosters recruitment of new participants in the SIB through promotion and advocacy and through existing member engagement. The Deputy also encourages and active and vibrant SIB community.The Deputy monitors the activities in the portal and member services and reports to the EAI Secretariat through the SIB manager on any suggestions for improving the SIB member experience.

Selection & Reporting

SIB Deputy Chairs are selected from submitted applications by the SIB Chair. They report to the SIB Chair and also to the EAI Scretariate via the SIB Manager. Either Deputy Chair may engage volunteers within the SIB to assist with their responsibilities and to help maintain SIB records and correspondence, keeping and distributing minutes of internal SIB meetings with action items and assignments.
