Roles and responsibilities

Most Innovation Books are anticipated to be edited books with individual chapters contributed by diverse individuals or groups. For authored books, where the full text is written by a single individual or small group, the responsibilities laid out for editors also apply to the authors.

• The Editors of an Innovation Book take responsibility for ensuring the delivery of the full text of the book in line with any deadlines agreed with the EAI Publications Team. Editors are responsible for ensuring that individual authors’ contributions are prepared in line with EAI submission guidelines and that authors have obtained permission for any third-party material to be included.
• Authors are responsible for providing the full text of their contributions in line with EAI submission guidelines, to deadlines to be set by their Editors. Authors must clearly identify any third-party material to be used in their contributions and obtain appropriate permissions.
• The Innovation Books Editorial Board is responsible for reviewing initial book proposals and final review of all submitted material to ensure it meets appropriate quality standards.
• The EAI Publications Team will provide technical and logistical support to editors and authors throughout the publications process. Once the full text of the book is submitted and approved by the Editorial Board, the Publications Team will take responsibility for all remaining stages of the book production process. Electronic proofs will be supplied to editors and authors for approval before the book goes to print.

Preparation of submissions

Book chapters should be supplied as individual Word files, with double-spaced text. Individual book or proceedings series may have specific requirements or submission templates.

Contributions should be written in English.  Both UK and US spelling rules may be used, but should be consistent within individual authors’ contributions.  Editors may mandate a consistent spelling rule for the entire volume if they wish.
