Publication Integrity Week 2025: How EAI Supports Diversity, Equity, Inclusivity, and Accessibility in Research

The annual Publication Integrity Week highlights the importance of fairness, transparency, and accessibility in research. At EAI, these values guide our (not only) publishing practices, ensuring that researchers from all regions and backgrounds can contribute to and benefit from the global scientific community.

This year, we are joining the initiative organized by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) for Publication Integrity Week 2025, in which one of the key themes being discussed is Diversity, Equity, Inclusivity, and Accessibility (DEIA) in practice. By participating, we want to reinforce our commitment to ethical and inclusive publishing across all our journals and conference activities.

Leveling the Global Research Playing Field

European Alliance for Innovation (EAI) works to remove barriers to research participation, ensuring innovation is not limited by geography or institutional resources. Our conferences and events actively engage researchers from emerging regions, fostering collaboration, mentorship, and global visibility.

All submissions undergo community-based peer review, evaluated on quality rather than reputation, promoting diverse perspectives and maintaining ethical standards. This commitment spans journals, book series, and conference proceedings, providing a truly level playing field for all researchers.

Open Access as a Foundation for Equity

Unlike subscription-based models, EAI’s open access publishing ensures that research is freely available to everyone. This approach allows researchers from all regions and institutions to read, share, and build on scientific knowledge without barriers.

Our Endorsed Transactions journals and Book Series co-published with Springer operate on this principle, combining transparent submission processes with wide distribution to promote equitable participation. Open access supports diversity in research by giving every contributor visibility on a global scale.

EUDL: Research for Everyone

At the heart of EAI’s publishing ecosystem is the European Union Digital Library (EUDL), which hosts thousands of open-access papers, conference proceedings, and books. All content is freely available, helping ensure that research is accessible to anyone, anywhere.

EUDL serves as a central hub where researchers, educators, and practitioners can browse, download, and explore scientific work across disciplines. By providing this platform, EAI reinforces its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusivity, giving researchers from all regions equal opportunity to share and access knowledge.

Empowering Researchers from Emerging Regions

The Computing and Communication in Emerging Regions (CCER) Series is a dedicated open-access proceeding series designed to provide equal publishing opportunities for researchers in underdeveloped regions. By offering a transparent, merit-based platform, CCER ensures that work from all regions can be shared and recognized on a global stage.

At EAI, we believe that talent and innovation can be found everywhere, and supporting researchers from underrepresented areas is essential to building a truly inclusive scientific community. CCER helps amplify these voices, giving them the visibility and credibility they deserve.

Get Involved with the EAI Community

Building an inclusive research ecosystem requires participation from the global scientific community. EAI provides open access platforms, conferences, and proceeding series that enable researchers from all regions to publish and collaborate.

By contributing as authors, reviewers, or participants, you support diversity, equity, and accessibility in academic publishing while connecting with peers worldwide.

Join the EAI Community to become a member and help create a more fair and inclusive research environment.
