EAI, bases member recognition strictly on the quality of the research results as evaluated by the peers. EAI is the only major society that does not depend on recommendations or committees. Together with EAI’s free membership it offers a unique recognition attainable to all regardless of country of origin, economic standing or age.

Tenets of EAI Index

Fair

The quality and impact of work is recognized and rewarded via a transparent credit system that applies to everyone equally – regardless of age, race, gender, country of origin, economic, or social status.

Immediate

All members keep their credits for the same 12 months, and are nominated for the ranks of Fellow, Distinguished Member and Senior member for the duration of three years.

Open

Free membership ensures that everyone may participate and no one is at a disadvantage or excluded from the EAI Index system.

Lifetime

Multi-year excellence is rewarded with a lifetime title, recognizing extraordinary individuals and their contribution to their respective field.

How it works

EAI Index is awarded to contributing EAI members, recognizing their research and innovation excellence on a point-system basis. All EAI Members get notified about their individual credit gains via email. The user‘s complete history along with exact individual calculations are available in their user profile.

Credits for Authors: awarded on a scale of 0-10 as a measure of the value of each of their valid paper, as determined by its average review score.
Bonus credits for Authors: credit gain is doubled when the paper is accepted, and quadrupled for papers with the highest average review score in the conference or a journal volume.
Credits for Reviewers: 1 or 2 credits awarded for every completed and valid review, as evaluated by the Program Committee Member or Journal Editor in charge of the article, verified by the Program Committee Chair and Editor-in-Chief respectively.
Credits for General Chairs: awarded as a measure of the quality and outreach of their conference as determined by the value of all papers submitted.
Credits for Program Committee Chairs: awarded as a measure of the quality and impact of their conference as determined by the value of all papers accepted.
Credits for Track Chairs: awarded as a measure of the quality and impact of their conference track, as determined by the value of all papers accepted.
Credits for Program Committee Members: awarded as a measure of the quality and impact of all their assigned papers, as determined by their value.
Credits for Editors-in-Chief: awarded as a measure of the quality and outreach of their journal, as determined by the value of all papers submitted.
Credits for Handling Editors: awarded as a measure of the quality and impact of all their handled papers, as determined by their value.
Credits for Special Issue Editors: awarded as a measure of the quality and outreach of their special issue, as determined by the value of all papers submitted.

Member rank nominations are awarded annually to contributing EAI members based on their EAI Index Percentile as follows:

The member rank of an EAI Fellow represents the top 0.1% of EAI Members for their extraordinary achievements in their research field, and/or extraordinary service to EAI and its community.

The final EAI Index value of EAI Members is calculated at the end of each 12-month period and comprises of two components weighed on the following scale:

Percentage	Component
80%	Technical qualifications – credits awarded to Authors and Reviewers submitting to or volunteering at EAI conferences or journals.
20%	Community service – credits awarded to General Chairs, Program Committee Chairs, Track Chairs, Program Committee Members, Editors-in-Chief, Handling Editors, and Special Issue Editors for their effort in organizing and promoting excellence in research.
