Leadership Update: Introducing the New Editors-in-Chief of EAI Endorsed Transactions on Security and Safety

New leaders join EAI Endorsed Transactions on Security and Safety! Discover their background and achievements.

We are pleased to announce that Weizhi Meng, Xiali (Sharon) Hei, and Qiben Yan have been appointed as new Editors-in-Chief of EAI Endorsed Transactions on Security and Safety.


Weizhi Meng – He is currently a Full Professor in the School of Computing and Communications, Lancaster University (LU), United Kingdom. His primary research interests are cyber security and intelligent technology security, including intrusion detection, smartphone security, biometric authentication, HCI security, trust computing, blockchain security, and malware analysis. Weizhi Meng is the General Chair for this years edition of EAI MobiQuitous conference.


Xiali (Sharon) Hei – Xiali (Sharon) Hei is an Alfred and Helen M. Lamson Endowed associate professor in the School of Computing and Informatics at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette since August 15th, 2023. Her primary research interests span across the following: AI security and privacy, Cyber-physical systems security, LLM model security, Hardware Security, Acoustic side-channel and Captcha attacks and design. She also was the General Chair of EAI SmartSP 2024.

Qiben Yan – Qiben Yan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Michigan State University, where he leads the Secure and Intelligent Things (SEIT) Lab. His research uses AI, acoustics, and blockchain technologies for enhancing security of connected devices, networks and systems. His primary research interests are in IoT security, mobile security and privacy, wireless system security, AI security and privacy, and botnet and malware detection.

All three newly appointed Co-Editors-in-Chief are distinguished, award-winning researchers with extensive experience in the field of computer science. Together, they bring knowledge and expertise to the journal. Their collective efforts are focused on re-establishing the EAI Endorsed Transactions on Security and Safety. With their guidance, the journal, which is indexed in major academic databases, is now fully equipped to receive paper submissions and special issue proposals from researchers worldwide.
