What is a TPC member and how to assign them?

The Technical Program Committee is part of the organising committee responsible for the technical side of programs. Their duties are mostly making sure that the papers submitted to the conference will have sufficient number of reviewers and that the reviews are delivered on time.

A Technical Committee Member (mostly used as an acronym TPC) as part of that committee is assigned to a specific paper (can be more than one) and is responsible for finding at least three reviewers who will submit a valid review in time before the review deadline.

If you are a chair operating inside Confy+, assigning TPCs is very easy. Your event must be in the Paper Assignment, Review Management or Decision and Notification stage first. If this condition is met, simply open a paper which you want to assign the TPC member to.

Click on “Request” and you will see a list of TPC members who are available to be assigned. If the TPC also expressed their interest in the Paper Assignment stage, you will see if they are interested in that specific paper.

In case that you do not see the desired TPC in this list, it probably means that you have not invited them to the event in Confy+. You can invite people using the Invite & Manage function.

If you do not see the request tab, it probably means that the track is not in one of the stages mentioned above or the paper has not been validated in the Validation Stage of the track (this mostly happens when the papers are moved between tracks in various stages).
